Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups cheese cubes (cheddar or mozzarella), cut into ¾-inch pieces
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Cooking spray
- Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and mix panko, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt in a third.
- Coat cheese cubes in flour, dip in egg, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for extra crunch.
- Place coated bites on a tray and freeze for 10–15 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange bites in a single layer.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce.
Notes
- Freeze cheese cubes before coating to prevent melting too fast.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket—space allows for crispiness.
- Use different cheese varieties for flavor twists.
- Double coat for a thicker, crunchier shell.
