- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 4 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add butter and cut in until mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the pan to form the crust.
- In another bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, and vanilla.
- Spread apple mixture over crust evenly.
- Sprinkle remaining crumble mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden and filling is bubbling.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor.
- Line the pan with parchment for easy removal.
- Let bars cool fully to slice cleanly.
