Ingredients

  • Napa Cabbage Leaves: 12 large leaves
  • Ground Chicken or Turkey: 1 pound
  • Cooked Jasmine Rice: 1 cup
  • Carrot: 1 small, finely grated
  • Shiitake Mushrooms: 4, finely chopped
  • Green Onions: 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger: 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy Sauce: 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame Oil: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Goji Berries (optional): 2 tablespoons, soaked
  • Water or Broth: 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Prepare a steamer or large pan with lid.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Mix ground meat, cooked rice, carrots, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Chill for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Blanch cabbage leaves for 1–2 minutes. Lay flat and trim thick stems.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Place 2 tablespoons of filling on each leaf. Fold sides in and roll tightly.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Arrange rolls in a steamer or pan, add 1/4 cup broth or water, and steam covered for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Finishing Touches: Drizzle with soy sauce and top with goji berries or herbs.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with dipping sauce on the side.
