  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the avocado until smooth. Stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced evenly.
  5. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes. Cookies will look slightly underbaked but will set as they cool.
  6. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  7. Serve warm or store in an airtight container once completely cooled.
