Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the mashed banana, sugar, and melted butter until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies turn golden.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • These cookies are soft and slightly chewy with a light banana flavor. The sweetness of the ripe banana pairs perfectly with the slight crunch on the edges from the baking process.
  • For an extra twist, you can add a handful of chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the dough for added texture and flavor.
  • If you prefer a less sweet cookie, you can reduce the sugar to 1/4 cup.
