BBQ wings & fries

BBQ wings & fries

BBQ wings and fries are the ultimate comfort food duo, combining sticky, smoky-sweet wings with crispy, golden fries. Perfect for game day or a casual dinner, this easy-to-make recipe delivers big flavor with minimal fuss.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 large russet potatoes, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a bowl, toss chicken wings with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Soak potato strips in water for 30 minutes. Drain, pat dry, and toss with cornstarch, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Arrange wings on the wire rack and spread fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake wings for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway. Bake fries for 25-30 minutes, flipping once.
  6. Warm the BBQ sauce and toss with cooked wings. Optional: broil for 2-3 minutes for extra stickiness.
  7. Sprinkle fries with extra salt or chili flakes if desired. Let wings rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve wings and fries hot with extra sauce or your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Soaking the fries helps remove starch for extra crispiness.
  • Use a wire rack to allow hot air to circulate and crisp up the wings evenly.
  • Warm BBQ sauce clings better to the wings than cold sauce.
