Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 cup (150g) uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 jar (24 oz / 680g) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup (75g) chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup (75g) chopped bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

  • Cook Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat. Once browned, add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

  • Add Marinara Sauce: Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

  • Cook Pasta: While the beef mixture is simmering, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain the pasta and add it to the beef mixture. Stir to combine.

  • Assemble Casserole: Pour the beef and pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.

  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
