These Blueberry Heaven Cookies are a delightful blend of rich cocoa and luscious blueberry jam, with a soft texture and a heavenly burst of flavor. The purple hue adds a whimsical touch, making them as beautiful as they are delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup blueberry jam
  • Purple food coloring (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
  • Add the Blueberry Flavor: Stir in the blueberry jam until fully incorporated. For a pop of color, add a few drops of purple food coloring.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Chill the Dough: Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Shape and Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops with a bit of granulated sugar for a sparkling finish.
  • Bake and Cool: Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers appear slightly soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • The addition of purple food coloring is optional but adds a fun touch to the cookies.
  • Ensure that the dough is chilled before baking to help the cookies maintain their shape.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
