  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk just until the dough starts to come together, then gently fold in the frozen blueberries.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out 6–8 biscuits.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 13–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. While biscuits bake, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle glaze over warm biscuits before serving.

  • Use frozen blueberries to avoid staining the dough.
  • Chill the dough before baking for a better rise.
