Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix (unprepared)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup M&Ms
  • Peppermint bark squares (optional)

  • Crushed candy canes (optional)
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry chocolate cake mix, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until the dough is thick and fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the M&Ms. If desired, add any optional toppings (peppermint bark, chocolate chips, toffee bits, crushed candy canes, or chopped pecans) for extra flavor and texture.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 9–11 minutes, or until the cookies are set and slightly golden at the edges.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

  • You can mix and match the optional ingredients (such as toffee bits or crushed candy canes) based on your personal preference or availability.
  • These cookies are great for gift-giving or sharing at holiday parties.
