Ingredients
- All-purpose flour, 2 ½ cups
- Warm water, 1 cup
- Active dry yeast, 2 ¼ teaspoons
- Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
- Salt, 1 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon
- Pizza sauce, ¾ cup
- Low moisture mozzarella cheese, 2 cups shredded
- Pepperoni slices, 1 cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F and place the cast iron skillet inside to heat.
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy, then stir in flour, salt, and olive oil until a soft dough forms.
- Carefully remove the hot skillet and lightly coat it with olive oil.
- Press the dough evenly into the skillet, pushing slightly up the sides.
- Spread pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, then add pepperoni on top.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve directly from the skillet.
Notes
- Let the dough rest before shaping for easier stretching.
- Do not overload toppings to keep the crust crisp.
- Reheat leftovers in a skillet to restore texture.
