Charcuterie Wreath

Charcuterie Wreath

A festive charcuterie wreath assembled on a round board with an array of savory meats, cheeses, fresh herbs, pickles, olives and vibrant vegetables. It’s a show‑stopping appetizer that feels like a holiday centerpiece and tastes like every bite counts.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 sprigs fresh rosemary: for wreath greenery and aromatic base
  • 200 g hard salami, thinly sliced: to roll into roses and add meaty richness
  • 100 g cubed Gouda cheese: mild and creamy cheese cubes to intersperse
  • 100 g Manchego cheese, small cubes: nutty, firm cheese to balance textures
  • 150 g cherry tomatoes: bright red bursts of juiciness and color
  • 150 g mini mozzarella balls: soft and milky contrast to the firm cheeses
  • 100 g cornichons (mini pickles): tangy crunch to punctuate the display
  • 100 g green olives: briny, rich flavor to deepen the board
  • 100 g black olives: deeper olive flavor and visual contrast
  • 50 g marcona almonds: buttery crunch to fill gaps and add texture
  • 100 g strawberries, halved: vibrant fruit pops of sweetness and color
  • 100 g blueberries: small sweet berries to nestle in between herbs and meats

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Place a large round wooden serving board (about 14‑18 inches diameter) on your work surface and ensure it’s clean and dry.
  2. Combine Ingredients: While no actual cooking is required, gather the sliced salami, cubed cheeses, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, pickles, olives, almonds, strawberries and blueberries and set them near the board.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: On the serving board arrange the rosemary sprigs in a circle to form the base wreath shape, overlapping herbs slightly so the ring looks full and festive.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Roll several slices of salami into rose‑shaped flowers and place them evenly around the rosemary circle. Then tuck clusters of cubed Gouda and Manchego in the gaps. Add alternating cherry tomato‑mozzarella bites, cornichons, green and black olives, strawberries and blueberries, and marcona almonds to fill in the spaces and build height and texture.
  5. Cook to Perfection: (There is no actual cooking step.) Instead let the arrangement settle for a few minutes, allowing the board elements to settle and the herbs to release their fragrance.
  6. Finishing Touches: Step back and look for any empty spots, and fill with extra rosemary sprigs, berries or nuts as needed. Lightly press ingredients into place so nothing shifts when moving the board.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Bring the charcuterie wreath to the table, let it rest at room temperature for up to 30 minutes so the flavors wake up, then invite guests to pick and enjoy. Trust me, you’re going to love this.

Notes

  • Choose a variety of textures and colors so the wreath looks abundant and inviting.
  • If you prefer vegetarian, swap salami with roasted red peppers or grilled vegetables ribbons.
  • Let the board sit at room temperature briefly before serving so cheeses soften slightly for better flavor release.
