Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey), 1 medium onion (finely diced), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice (or brown rice), 2 cups beef broth (or chicken broth), 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken), 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided), ½ cup sour cream, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional), salt and pepper (to taste)

Optional Toppings:
fresh parsley (chopped), extra shredded cheese, green onions (sliced)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or coat it with nonstick spray.

2. Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and garlic until the meat is browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.

3. Combine Ingredients
Stir in the uncooked rice, broth, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread evenly.

4. Bake It
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil, top with ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese, and return to the oven. Bake uncovered for another 15–20 minutes, until the rice is tender and the cheese is melted and golden.

5. Garnish & Serve 🌿
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley, green onions, or extra cheese if desired.

Notes

You can substitute cream of mushroom with cream of chicken or a homemade version.
– Use brown rice, but increase the bake time by 10–15 minutes and check for doneness.
– Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheat beautifully.
