Ingredients
Scale
1 lb boneless chicken breast, sliced into thin strips
1 small Chinese cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, peeled and grated
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
Cook the Garlic and Ginger: Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken strips to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
Add the Cabbage: Add the chopped Chinese cabbage to the wok and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted but still retains some crunchiness.
Add the Sauce: Pour in the sauce mixture and stir-fry for another minute, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and cabbage evenly.
Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice.
Notes
You can substitute the Chinese cabbage with other leafy greens like napa cabbage or bok choy.
Adjust the level of salt depending on the sodium content of your soy sauce.
