Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 1/4 cups
- Unsalted butter, softened: 1 cup
- Brown sugar, packed: 1 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- Large eggs: 2
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips: 2 cups
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is just set.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
- For softer bars, slightly underbake and let them finish setting as they cool.
- Lining the pan with parchment makes removal and slicing much easier.
- Bars can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
