Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- In a small bowl whisk milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently mix until a dough forms.
- Shape the dough into a round disc and cut into 8 triangles.
- Place the scones on the baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Keep butter cold for flaky texture.
- Do not overmix the dough.
- Chill the shaped scones for 10 minutes before baking for better structure.
