Crab Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked crab meat
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl combine crab meat, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Spread the crab mixture between two slices of bread with buttered sides facing outward.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
  6. Remove from the skillet and let it rest briefly.
  7. Slice diagonally and serve warm.

Notes

  • Drain crab meat lightly to prevent a watery filling.
  • Cook over medium heat so the bread crisps without burning.
  • Try sourdough bread for extra flavor.
