- 1 cup cooked crab meat
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoons finely diced red bell pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices sandwich bread
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a bowl combine crab meat, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Spread the crab mixture between two slices of bread with buttered sides facing outward.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
- Remove from the skillet and let it rest briefly.
- Slice diagonally and serve warm.
Notes
- Drain crab meat lightly to prevent a watery filling.
- Cook over medium heat so the bread crisps without burning.
- Try sourdough bread for extra flavor.
