Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken pieces
- 10 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a casserole dish.
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and lightly sear the chicken until just golden, then transfer to the casserole dish.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the mushrooms until tender. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, stir well, then slowly add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Pour the creamy mushroom sauce over the chicken in the casserole dish.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, until bubbling and lightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, let rest briefly, then serve.
Notes
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving so the sauce thickens naturally.
- Use fresh mushrooms for the best texture and flavor.
- Leftovers taste even better the next day.
