Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 1 cup, crushed)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Optional Cream Sauce:

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Coating: In separate shallow bowls, place milk, shredded cheddar cheese, and crushed Ritz crackers. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the crushed crackers and mix well.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken breast into the milk, then coat it with shredded cheddar cheese, and press it into the cracker mixture to coat the chicken thoroughly.
  • Bake the Chicken: Place the coated chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden and crispy.
  • Make the Optional Sauce: While the chicken bakes, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk in a small saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until warm. Serve the sauce over the baked chicken once it’s ready.

Notes

  • If you prefer extra crunch, you can add more crushed crackers to the coating.
  • For a spicier version, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cracker mixture.
  • The optional cream sauce adds extra richness and is a great complement to the crispy chicken.
