- 4 boneless chicken thighs or cutlets
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
- 1 large tomato, sliced (optional)
- Red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
- ½ cup Caesar dressing
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Parmesan cheese shavings (optional)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk eggs in one bowl. In another, mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip chicken in egg, then dredge in the flour mixture. Repeat the process for extra crispness.
- Fry the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel or wire rack.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.
- Spread Caesar dressing on both sides of each bun.
- Layer lettuce, chicken, tomato, onion, and more dressing if desired onto each bun.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using, and top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Double dredging adds extra crunch to the chicken.
- Use freshly shredded romaine for the best texture.
- Let the chicken rest a few minutes after frying to keep it juicy and crispy.
- Chop leftover chicken into a Caesar salad or wrap for a quick meal.
