Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, sliced (optional)
  • Red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing
  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • Parmesan cheese shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk eggs in one bowl. In another, mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken in egg, then dredge in the flour mixture. Repeat the process for extra crispness.
  4. Fry the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel or wire rack.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.
  6. Spread Caesar dressing on both sides of each bun.
  7. Layer lettuce, chicken, tomato, onion, and more dressing if desired onto each bun.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using, and top with the other half of the bun.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite sides.
