Tender steak bites slow-cooked in a flavorful sauce made with Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, and garlic, resulting in a sweet and savory dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs stew beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the stew beef with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the beef pieces until browned on all sides. Transfer the beef to the slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef in the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve the steak bites with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for a complete meal.
