It’s an easy-to-make, savory dish that’s perfect for any meal, offering a rich and creamy flavor thanks to the combination of French onion soup, beef broth, and butter. It pairs wonderfully with any main course, especially meats or grilled vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick butter (½ cup)
  • 1 can condensed French onion soup
  • 1 can condensed beef broth soup
  • 1 cup white rice (rinsed; note: not instant rice)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Rinse the Rice: Rinse the white rice under water to remove excess starch.
  • Assemble the Dish: Place the rinsed rice in the prepared baking dish.
  • Add the Soups: Pour both cans of soup (French onion and beef broth) over the rice.
  • Mix: Gently stir the rice and soups together with a mixing spoon to combine.
  • Add the Butter: Place the stick of butter directly on top of the rice.
  • Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Stir and Continue Baking: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and stir the rice mixture again. Continue baking for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Final Stir and Serve: Stir the rice one final time after baking. Serve and enjoy!

  • You can adjust the type of soup (for example, swapping beef broth with chicken broth) depending on your preference.
