Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen meatballs, defrosted

  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or spaghetti sauce

  • 3 cups water

  • 1 box bowtie pasta (16 oz)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • In a high-sided, oven-proof pot or skillet, combine the meatballs, marinara sauce, water, pasta, and Italian seasoning. Stir to mix evenly.

  • Cover the dish tightly with a lid or foil and bake for 35 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven, uncover, and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

  • Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to settle.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, stir in garlic powder, red pepper flakes, or fresh basil before baking.

  • Use any pasta shape you prefer, such as penne or rotini.

  • Substitute ground turkey or plant-based meatballs for a lighter version.

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
