This Easy Breakfast Cheese Danish is the perfect sweet treat for your morning! Flaky crescent rolls are layered with a creamy, smooth cream cheese filling, then topped with a sweet glaze. Simple to make, yet absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

For the Danish:
• 2 cans ready-to-use refrigerated crescent rolls
• 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 egg
• 1 egg white

For the Glaze:
• ½ cup powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp milk
• ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.
  • Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
    • Lay one pack of crescent rolls in the bottom of the prepared baking pan, pinching the openings together to form a crust.
  • Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and well combined.
  • Assemble the Danish:
    • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust.
    • Lay the second pack of crescent rolls on top of the cheese mixture.
    • Brush the top layer of dough with the egg white for a golden finish.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Make the Glaze:
    • While the Danish is baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  • Serve:
    • Allow the Danish to cool for about 20 minutes before drizzling with the glaze.
    • Cut into squares and serve!

Notes

  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, you can add a bit more powdered sugar to taste.
  • This recipe works great as a make-ahead breakfast; simply store the unbaked danish in the fridge overnight and bake in the morning.
