A soothing, warm beverage packed with natural ingredients like ginger, lemon, honey, and turmeric, designed to help you feel better during flu season. The addition of black pepper and optional spices boosts the effectiveness and warmth of this natural remedy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 a lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (or freshly grated turmeric root)
  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric’s absorption)
  • Optional: a cinnamon stick or a dash of cayenne pepper for extra warmth

Instructions

  • Boil Water:
    Boil the water and pour it into your favorite mug.
  • Steep Ginger:
    Add the ginger slices and let them steep for 5 minutes to infuse the water.
  • Add Spices:
    Stir in the turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon stick (if using).
  • Add Lemon and Honey:
    Add the lemon juice and honey. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved.
  • Optional Kick:
    For an extra warmth, sprinkle a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Strain and Sip:
