- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the olive oil and a few popcorn kernels as testers.
- Once they pop, add the rest of the kernels and cover with a lid.
- Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning and cook until popping slows to 2-second intervals.
- Remove from heat and pour popcorn into a large mixing bowl.
- While still hot, sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and parmesan cheese over the popcorn.
- Toss thoroughly to coat evenly. Add melted butter if desired and toss again.
- Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best results.
- Add herbs or chili flakes for extra flavor.
- Store in a paper bag or airtight container for up to 2 days.
