Celebrate love with these Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies! Perfectly sweet, buttery, and packed with chocolate chips, they’re a delightful treat for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the Dough: Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This helps the cookies hold their shape when baked.
  • Roll and Cut: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake the Cookies: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly soft; they will set as they cool. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Decorate (Optional): If desired, drizzle the cookies with melted chocolate or sprinkle with pink or red sprinkles for extra Valentine’s Day flair.

Notes

  • You can store these cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • For a fun touch, try using different colored sprinkles or drizzle with melted chocolate to give them a festive look.
