These Heavenly Cinnamon Roll Breadtwists are the perfect blend of sweet, gooey cinnamon filling wrapped in buttery, flaky dough. With a drizzle of creamy glaze, they make for a perfect treat for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Breadtwists:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent dough 🥐
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar 🍬
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 🌿
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 🧈
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed 🍂
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional) 🥜

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar 🍥
  • 2 tablespoons milk 🥛
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract 🌺

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent dough onto a lightly floured surface and press the seams together to form a single sheet.
  • Add the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:
In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Brush the melted butter over the dough, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  • Shape the Twists:
Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the dough into strips (about 1 inch wide). Fold each strip in half lengthwise and twist gently to create a spiral shape. Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with Brown Sugar and Pecans:
Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the twists. If using pecans, add a few to each twist for a nutty crunch.
  • Bake the Twists:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  • Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.
  • Glaze and Serve:
Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists. Serve immediately and enjoy the gooey, cinnamon goodness!

Notes

  • For added flavor, top with a sprinkle of extra cinnamon-sugar before baking.
  • If you don’t have pecans, any nut or chocolate chips could work in their place.
  • These breadtwists are best served warm, but can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
