Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons honey (plus extra for drizzling)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add milk and stir until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat into a 1-inch thick round. Cut into biscuits using a biscuit cutter or glass.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Combine melted butter and honey. Brush the mixture over warm biscuits immediately after baking.
- Serve warm, with additional honey if desired.
Notes
- Use very cold butter for the best flakiness.
- Do not twist the cutter when shaping biscuits.
- Chill shaped biscuits for 10 minutes before baking for extra rise.
