Lazy Lasagna Skillet

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until fragrant, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat and stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add pasta and water, stir to combine.
  5. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan on top, cover until melted.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
  • Add water if sauce thickens too much
  • Use fresh cheese for best texture
