- 8 ounces pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until fragrant, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Drain excess fat and stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Add pasta and water, stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan on top, cover until melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
Notes
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
- Add water if sauce thickens too much
- Use fresh cheese for best texture
