Mac Daddy Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning blend
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 hard taco shells
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups finely shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup fresh diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F to warm taco shells.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water, simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Place taco shells upright on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Spoon seasoned beef into each shell, filling about three-quarters full.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hot beef and return to oven for 3-4 minutes until melted.
  7. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream.
  8. Serve immediately while shells are crisp.

Notes

  • Toast shells slightly longer for extra crunch.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes to beef for heat.
  • Assemble tacos just before serving to maintain crispiness.
