- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning blend
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 hard taco shells
- 1 1/2 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups finely shredded lettuce
- 1 cup fresh diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F to warm taco shells.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water, simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Place taco shells upright on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Spoon seasoned beef into each shell, filling about three-quarters full.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hot beef and return to oven for 3-4 minutes until melted.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Serve immediately while shells are crisp.
Notes
- Toast shells slightly longer for extra crunch.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes to beef for heat.
- Assemble tacos just before serving to maintain crispiness.
- Keep beef warm on low heat if serving a crowd.
