Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (226 grams) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (90 grams) powdered sugar
- 1 3/4 cups (220 grams) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, sift together flour, matcha powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mix to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe the dough into swirled rosettes on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes or until the edges are just starting to turn golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor and color.
- If dough is too soft to pipe, chill it briefly in the fridge.
- Don’t overbake or you’ll lose the vibrant green color.
