- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 4–6 tortillas or sliced burger buns (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Season with salt and pepper, then drain excess grease.
- If using, layer tortillas or sliced buns at the bottom of the baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly over it.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 15–20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5–10 minutes to set.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, paprika, and garlic powder to make the sauce.
- Top casserole with shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, cherry tomatoes, and drizzle the sauce over the top.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to avoid excess grease.
- Add crispy onions on top for a crunchy finish.
- Only add toppings after baking to keep them fresh and vibrant.
