Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into 1.5-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 18–20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Toast the hoagie rolls, then fill each with meatballs, extra sauce, and shredded mozzarella.
  8. Broil the assembled subs for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Toast the rolls to avoid sogginess.
