M&M’s Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M’s candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Fold in most of the M&M’s, reserving a handful.
  5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle reserved M&M’s on top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is set.
  7. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lift out, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

  • Do not overbake—the center will set as it cools.
  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean cuts.
  • Store with a slice of bread to keep the bars soft longer.
