Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups M&M’s candies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in most of the M&M’s, reserving a handful.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle reserved M&M’s on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is set.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lift out, cut into squares, and serve.
Notes
- Do not overbake—the center will set as it cools.
- Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean cuts.
- Store with a slice of bread to keep the bars soft longer.
