Ingredients

1 lb smoked sausage (sliced or cut into bite-sized chunks), 1 cup uncooked white rice, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, salt & black pepper (to taste), 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth, ½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)

Instructions

1. Brown the Sausage 🔥
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and caramelized on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.

2. Toast the Rice & Spices 🌾✨
In the same skillet, add uncooked rice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir for 1–2 minutes to lightly toast the rice and bloom the spices.

3. Add Broth & BBQ Sauce 🧪🍗
Pour in the broth and BBQ sauce. Stir well to combine, then bring to a gentle boil.

4. Simmer Until Done ⏳
Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 18–20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.

 

5. Finish & Serve 😋
Return the sausage to the pan and stir everything together. Let it sit off heat for a few minutes. Serve hot — and add extra BBQ sauce if you’re feelin’ saucy!

Notes

– Use any BBQ sauce you love — smoky, spicy, sweet, or tangy.
– You can sub in turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a lighter or vegetarian version.
– Want veggies? Stir in frozen peas, corn, or diced bell peppers with the broth.
