This rich and moist peanut butter cake, paired with a creamy peanut butter-honey frosting, is a delightful treat for peanut butter lovers. Topped with mini chocolate chips, it’s a perfect dessert for any occasion.

For the Cake:

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup butter (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs

For the Peanut Butter-Honey Frosting:

  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 45 tablespoons milk

Optional:

  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Make the Cake: In a large bowl, mix the first 4 ingredients with an electric mixer. Blend at low speed until crumbly. Add the next 5 ingredients and blend at low speed until combined. Then beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
  2. Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Cool and Frost: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Spread the frosting over the hot cake and sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top.

For the Frosting:

  1. Prepare the Frosting: Warm the peanut butter and honey in the microwave until soft and easy to stir. Add vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk, and beat until smooth.
  2. Spread the Frosting: Spread the frosting on the warm cake and top with mini chocolate chips.

Notes

You can also add a drizzle of extra honey or caramel on top for added sweetness.
