Ingredients

Scale

For the Rolls:

  • 1 (12-count) package King’s Hawaiian original sweet rolls
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.

  • Prepare the Rolls: Cut small squares in the tops of the King’s Hawaiian rolls and gently remove some of the bread inside, making sure the bottoms remain intact. This creates a cavity to fill with the cream cheese mixture.

  • Make Cinnamon Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Brush this mixture generously over the tops and inside the cavities of the rolls.

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Then mix in the granulated sugar and egg until the filling is creamy and well combined.

  • Fill the Rolls: Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the cavities of the rolls, filling them generously.

  • Bake: Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cream cheese filling is set.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the sweet, cinnamon-filled, cream cheese goodness!

Notes

  • Storage: These rolls are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can reheat them in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • Customization: Feel free to sprinkle some chopped nuts or a drizzle of icing on top for extra flavor and decoration.
