Ingredients

Scale

For the Red Velvet Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Make the Red Velvet Brownie Layer:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until well combined.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Pour about 3/4 of the red velvet batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Reserve the remaining batter for swirling.
  • Make the Cheesecake Layer:
In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the red velvet layer in the pan.
  • Add Swirls:
Dollop spoonfuls of the reserved red velvet batter over the cheesecake layer.
Use a toothpick or knife to gently swirl the batter and cheesecake together for a marbled effect.
  • Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan.
  • Slice and Serve:
Once cooled, lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper.
Slice into squares or bars and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
  • Adjust the amount of red food coloring based on your desired color intensity.
  • These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
