- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in salt, olive oil, and flour. Knead until smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a rectangle and cut into strips. Roll each into a cigar shape and place on baking sheet.
- Brush with half of garlic butter (butter, garlic, parsley). Bake 15–18 minutes until golden.
- Brush with remaining garlic butter right after baking. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
- Let the dough rise fully for soft texture.
- Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Add parmesan before baking for a cheesy twist.
