A hearty, comforting stew made with smoked sausage, tender cabbage, and vegetables in a flavorful broth—perfect for a cozy family meal.

  • 1 lb smoked sausages, sliced
  • 1/2 head cabbage, chopped
  • 3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot and brown the sausages. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pot, sauté the chopped onion until softened.
  • Add potatoes, carrots, and cabbage to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, and add garlic powder and paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • Return the browned sausages to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute the smoked sausages with other types of sausage (like Italian or turkey sausage) for different flavor variations.
  • This stew can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. The flavors only get better!
