Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine ground beef, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, chili flakes (if using), cornstarch, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well until evenly combined.
  3. Roll Out the Dough:
    • Divide the dough into smaller portions and roll each into thin rectangles.
    • Spread the filling evenly over each rectangle.
  4. Roll and Slice:
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 1.5-inch pieces.
  5. Cook the Dumpling Rolls:
    • Heat a large pan with a small amount of oil. Sear the rolls until golden on the bottom.
    • Add 1/4 cup water, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until the rolls are cooked through.
  6. Make the Sauce:
    • In a small pan, combine chili oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sesame seeds, honey or sugar, and minced garlic. Heat gently until well mixed.
  7. Toss and Garnish:
    • Pour the sauce over the cooked rolls and toss to coat evenly.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
