Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 6 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp red wine vinegar
  • ½ tbsp finely minced onion
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp celery seed
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine the Ingredients: In a saucepan, add all of the ingredients and whisk thoroughly to combine.
  • Boil: Bring the mixture to a boil, whisking constantly to prevent clumping.
  • Simmer: Once it boils, reduce the heat to a simmer. Continue to whisk for another 5 minutes, letting it simmer and thicken.

  • Store: Transfer the cooled sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar and vinegar levels based on how sweet or tangy you want the sauce.
  • This sauce is perfect on sandwiches, wraps, or as a drizzle over salads.
  • For extra flavor, add more onion powder or garlic powder depending on your taste preference.
