This Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot Chicken is an easy and flavorful dish, perfect for busy days. With just a few simple ingredients like Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, vinegar, and spices, you’ll have tender, juicy chicken that’s finger-licking good. You can use boneless or bone-in chicken, and it’s great for a quick dinner or meal prep!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or any other chicken cuts, bone-in or boneless; chicken legs work well)
  • 1 (18 oz.) bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce (or any other flavor of your choice, including sugar-free)
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, white vinegar, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
  • Cook the Chicken: Place the chicken in the crockpot. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated. TIP: Save some sauce for glazing the chicken before serving!
  • Slow Cook: Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. For smaller chicken legs, I recommend cooking for about 5 ½ hours. Check the chicken at the 4-hour mark to assess the doneness.
  • Serve: Once the chicken is cooked and tender, glaze with the reserved sauce and serve. Enjoy the finger-licking goodness!

Notes

  • You can adjust the cooking time based on the size of your chicken. Thicker or bone-in cuts may take a bit longer.
  • For a spicier kick, you can increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • This recipe pairs perfectly with sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or a fresh salad.
