A warm, cheesy, and flavorful dip that’s perfect for parties and game days. This crowd-pleaser combines creamy layers with a spicy kick, topped with gooey cheese for an irresistible appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese, divided
  • 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies, drained
  • Optional: 1 lb cooked and drained ground beef
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, jalapeño slices

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or similar-sized baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, refried beans, and taco seasoning mix. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
  • Stir in 1 cup of the Mexican blend cheese, all the Pepper Jack cheese, and the diced green chilies. Mix thoroughly. If using ground beef, add it now.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Top with the remaining 1 cup of Mexican blend cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is melted.
  • Garnish with optional toppings as desired. Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • If you’re adding ground beef, make sure it’s cooked and drained before mixing it in.
  • You can use a larger dish if you want to spread the dip thinner or adjust the bake time.
