Ingredients
Scale
- 8 thick slices brioche bread (about 450 g)
- 4 large eggs (about 200 g)
- 1 cup whole milk (240 ml)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (60 ml)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese (225 g)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (30 g)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (10 g)
- 1/4 cup chocolate sauce (60 ml)
- 2 tablespoons butter (28 g)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter evenly across the surface.
- Dip each slice of brioche bread into the custard mixture, coating both sides lightly.
- Place soaked bread onto the hot skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and set.
- In a separate bowl, mix mascarpone cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Stack cooked french toast slices, spreading mascarpone mixture between layers.
- Dust the top generously with cocoa powder and drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving warm.
Notes
- Use slightly stale bread for better absorption without sogginess.
- Sift cocoa powder for an even, elegant finish.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
