Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 5 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 4–6 scoops vanilla ice cream
- Fresh strawberries, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy.
- Add butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes.
- Let dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly and slice. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 20 minutes.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
- Serve each roll with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and optional strawberries.
Notes
- Use high-quality vanilla ice cream for the best flavor.
- Let the cinnamon rolls cool slightly before adding the glaze so it doesn’t melt off too quickly.
- You can make the rolls ahead and freeze them without glaze.
- Add a drizzle of caramel or nuts for a twist.
