Vanilla Ice Cream with Cinnamon Rolls

Warm, gooey cinnamon rolls paired with creamy vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries  the perfect dessert fusion of hot and cold, soft and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 5 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 46 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy.
  3. Add butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Let dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll tightly and slice. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 20 minutes.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
  9. Serve each roll with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and optional strawberries.

Notes

  • Use high-quality vanilla ice cream for the best flavor.
  • Let the cinnamon rolls cool slightly before adding the glaze so it doesn’t melt off too quickly.
  • You can make the rolls ahead and freeze them without glaze.
  • Add a drizzle of caramel or nuts for a twist.
