Ingredients

1 cup sea salt
2–3 fresh jalapeños
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).

  • Prep Jalapeños:
    Slice the jalapeños in half. Remove seeds for less heat if desired.

  • Dry Jalapeños:
    Place jalapeño halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 2 hours, or until dried and crisp.

  • Blend Seasoning:
    In a food processor, combine dried jalapeños, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.

  • Pulse to Combine:
    Pulse until mixture reaches a fine, even texture.

 

  • Store:
    Transfer to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

– Leave the jalapeño seeds in for extra heat.
– Try using red or yellow jalapeños for a colorful twist.
– This also makes a great homemade gift!
