Ingredients

Scale

1012 Babybel cheese, 2 ounces Kettle potato chips (or Doritos), 3 tablespoons flour, 1 large egg (beaten)

Instructions

Remove the wrapper and wax packaging from 10–12 Babybel cheese rounds. Set aside. Place 2 ounces of Kettle potato chips in a plastic bag. Crush them into tiny crumbs using a rolling pin (or use your hands if using an individual snack bag). Aim for at least 1 cup of potato chip crumbs. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. Set up three shallow bowls: in the first bowl, add 3 tablespoons of flour. In the second bowl, beat 1 large egg. In the third bowl, place the crushed potato chip crumbs. Roll each Babybel cheese in flour, then soak it in the egg mixture, and finally roll it in the potato chip crumbs. Repeat this process (dip again in egg and coat with crumbs) for a double layer of coating. Lightly spritz both sides of the breaded cheese with nonstick spray or olive oil spray. Place the cheese in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch or overlap (work in batches if necessary). Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes, or bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. Remove the cheese carefully using tongs or a spatula. Serve while hot and melty.

Notes

– Doritos or any thick-style chip can work for extra flavor.
– Freeze the cheese rounds for 15 minutes before breading if you’re worried about leaks.
– Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or sriracha mayo.
