2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp chopped parsley, 1 tbsp chopped thyme, 1 tbsp chopped rosemary, 1 cup milk, ¼ cup melted butter, 2 eggs.
Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the shredded cheddar and chopped herbs.
Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
Combine & Mix: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined—do not overmix.
Bake: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy with butter, soup, or as a side dish!
Substitute cheddar with other cheeses like Gruyère or mozzarella for variety.
Fresh herbs enhance the flavor, but dried herbs can be used in half the quantity.
This bread can be frozen—wrap tightly and store for up to 3 months.
