Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp chopped parsley, 1 tbsp chopped thyme, 1 tbsp chopped rosemary, 1 cup milk, ¼ cup melted butter, 2 eggs.

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the shredded cheddar and chopped herbs.

  • Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.

  • Combine & Mix: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined—do not overmix.

  • Bake: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Cool & Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy with butter, soup, or as a side dish!

Notes

  • Substitute cheddar with other cheeses like Gruyère or mozzarella for variety.

  • Fresh herbs enhance the flavor, but dried herbs can be used in half the quantity.

  • This bread can be frozen—wrap tightly and store for up to 3 months.
